Playing the back of a cajon

Most of us play the cajon on the front playing surface and it makes sense as this is how the instrument is designed to be played. However, you can get some really nice tones on the backside too.

Every cajon will sound different but experiment with your own and see what sounds you can get. I would love to hear what you discover in the comments at the bottom of this post.
